THE LAST SHADOW PUPPETS

THE LAST SHADOW PUPPETS
The Last Shadow Puppets est un groupe de pop anglaise, formé d'Alex Turner (leader des Arctic Monkeys) et de Miles Kane (chanteur des The Rascals). Cette formation est un side-project, réalisé en parallèle des groupes des deux musiciens. Leur premier album, The Age Of The Understatement, principalement enregistré en France en août 2007, sort au printemps 2008. Pour l'album le groupe s'est fait accompagner par le producteur James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, Klaxons) et Owen Pallett (Arcade Fire, Final Fantasy) pour les arrangements cordes.

Trois version du single The Age Of The Understatement sortent le 7 avril 2008, comprenant en face B des reprises de David Bowie (In The Heat Of The Morning) et de Billy Fury (Wondrous Place).

Leurs premières prestations ont été acoustiques : Alex Turner et Miles Kane ont en effet joué deux concerts début avril à New York à la guitare sèche. Leur premier concert avec orchestre a eu lieu sur le plateau de l'émission Later de Jools Holland, une sorte de Taratata britannique. Concernant des concerts en public, le groupe se produira aux festivals de Reading et Leeds cet été. Ils seront également en concert à Paris au mois de novembre.
